Bilingual (English & Japanese) with Audio
This series introduces the history of Japan’s national unification and examines the lives of women in the elite military houses of that time. Were the Lady Samurai female warriors? – No. On the contrary, they did not engage in battle directly, and instead of putting their lives at risk, they tried to avoid the wars. Some went on to negotiate and make truce agreements, while others promoted a conflict-free state by sending out letters regularly to maintain amicable relations among shoguns and other warlords. The Lady Samurai sought peace without violence. Their life stories are filled with wisdom, empathy and motherly spirit.
